Since 1916, when the Kestner Gesellschaft was founded in Hannover (Germany), it has been actively promoting contemporary national and international art. It is not only one of the oldest but also one of the largest art associations in Germany.
The board is currently seeking a new director. Besides the exhibitions of art, the Kestner Gesellschaft offers a variety of platforms of discourse: discussions with artists, lectures, public tours, guided tours for members, art trips for members, and programs for children, students and young employees.
The director’s primary focus will be on curatorial concepts and realization of exhibitions, communication of the exhibition programs, members’ and sponsors’ services, the production of publications and communication with the press and fundraising.
The director should have excellent communicational skills, experience in fundraising, membership services, publishing, cultural and political dialogues. Experience in dealing with budgets and managing human resources is also a prerequisite.
German language skills spoken and written would be favorable.
